The most recent recipient of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics bi-annual Gold Award of Excellence in Entrepreneurship, Craig Elias is an award-winning educator, entrepreneur, author, and a highly sought-after startup advisor.
After winning a $1,000,000 prize in a global billion-dollar idea pitch competition and spending time in Silicon Valley with his first venture, Craig returned home to help startups in and around Calgary.
Since then Craig has been a National Growth Advisor for Goldman Sachs’ and Babson College’s 10,000 Small Business Program in Boston, a startup mentor for the highly acclaimed Alchemist Accelerator in San Francisco, on an advisory committee for South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, and on the advisory board for Nudge.ai (an artificial intelligence company started by a founder of Eloqua, which was sold to Oracle for $957 Million US) in Toronto.
Craig is LinkedIn user 3,956 of over 700 million users and has over 10,000 endorsements for sales, marketing and entrepreneurship skills and almost 30,000 first degree connections.
For the past six years, Craig has been the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Bow Valley College in downtown Calgary where he uses a Community-Based Entrepreneurship approach to help more post-secondary students across the province of Alberta become first-time entrepreneurs.
He also runs Calgary’s five-day ‘Innovation Rodeo’ and three different student pitch competitions – VentureQuest, 150Startups, and INVENTURE$.
